Woodhoppers here are usually found in gardens, under wood or stones where it is damp. Species found and images taken on 07.08.11. SW4594030947.

Woodhoppers are very closely related to numerous species of sandhoppers that are found just above and below the high tide mark. Similar species are typically marine.

Arcitalitrus dorrieni is also known as the Landhopper and Lawn Shrimp, it is the only species or terrestrial amphipod in the UK. It is an alien species, originating from Australia. It was first described in the UK on Tresco, the Isles of Scilly.
