This species was found as a large 38mm pupae in a wall crevice, under a Silver Birch (Betula pendula). 09.03.13. The pupae here was collected and it hatched three weeks later revealing the species of moth to which it belonged.

Silver Birch is one of the food plants of the Lime Hawk-moth caterpillar, another is obviously Lime.
