This species resembles a large flowered bluebell that has more erect flower spikes. It is a hybrid of our Common Bluebell with the Spanish Bluebell. Unfortunately the hybrid is able to out-compete our own native species and is something of a threat to it where gardens meet woodland, and where insects transfer pollen from one species to another. 28.03.12.
